Apartment List reported in their December 2021 rent report that some Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) residential rental markets have increased by as much as 29 percent year over year. Markets with the highest rent increases were Coppell (29%), Flower Mound (27%), and the Colony (26%). DFW rental data, ranked by year over year (Y/Y) rent growth, was presented in Table 1.

The average Dallas rental rate increase was closer to 16 percent, which was inline with the Texas market overall, but less than the national average of 18 percent (Figure 1).
